For many of you this will be the first time with a need to hire entertainment for an event. Your Wedding Day is one of the most important days; I want to make it one of the most memorable days that will be cherished by all.
I work with Bridal couples to help relieve the stress of planning the perfect wedding reception. I personalize and customize each event with the couple to make each reception a unique reflection of you.
Together we will create the perfect reception with the atmosphere, tempo and
personality that will enhance the ambiance for all your friends and family. The
key to a successful event is in the planning. We typically have at least
three meetings where we will plan exactly what will happen from the time your
guests arrive to the last song of the night.
You both are the stars of the evening; you're the reason everyone is there; to share in your happiness. My goal is to provide you with the best Professional Disc Jockey Entertainment possible. I utilize my many years of experience, skills and talents as a Disc Jockey, stand-up comic and on-air television personality to create a fun, interactive, entertaining and unforgettable event. I will not use any tactics that will embarrass you or any of your guests but will provide a meaningful, emotional, sentimental and a stress-free event.
Initial Consultation
During your initial consultation, Jeff will spend time getting to know you both
personally and gain an understanding of your needs and expectations for the big
event. Jeff will also answer any questions you might have regarding the planning and
executing of your special day. During this time, he may ask some questions and
present some of his own creative ideas from his years of experience to help make
your night perfect. He will also give you a better understanding of the
entertainment value for your event, how it affects you and your guests, and how you
can find the perfect DJ/Entertainer to fit your personality and goals. Even without
a commitment, you will have a better understanding of your expectations, and what it
will take to make them reality. Jeff's number one concern is that you are satisfied
and confident in your entertainment decision.
Organizing Your Special Day
Approximately 30 days prior to your reception Jeff will personally meet with you
to plan and organize the details. Details including your first guests arrival
to the last song of the night as well as everything in-between. Together we
will create a timeline that will give you peace of mind.
Depending on your personal preferences there may be a need for several follow-up meetings. A great DJ/Entertainer doesn't just show up at your event without many hours of preparation so that everything is perfect right down to the littlest of details. Typically the preparation planning accounts for 20 - 40 hours for Jeff to complete and ensure everything is in order.
If you choose to have the "Love Story" or the "First Dance Pledge" performed at your reception you may need to meet with Jeff to fill out a questionnaire or pre-record special messages. There will also be a DJ Wedding Planner to complete that will help plan, format and execute the entire reception. Please print, and bring these completed documents with you at the second meeting.
The "DJ Wedding Planner" and the "The Love Story" questionnaire both need to be returned to Jeff a minimum of 30 days prior to the reception. The "First Dance Pledge" should also be recorded a minimum of 20 days prior to the reception.
Preparing for your Event
As your DJ, Jeff understands that the entertainment makes up 80% of the success of
your reception. That is why he will work with you on a personal level to ensure your
unique ideas and goals are met to create an unforgettable occasion. To make sure
that everything is ready to go, Jeff will set up a final meeting with you. During
this time, he will walk you through the event -- from the moment your guests arrive
to the last song -- to make sure all your ideas are understood crystal clear and
executed impeccably.
The last meeting normally will take place the week of your event. Jeff will meet with you, the individuals responsible for the event location, and any other important people from your wedding party (bridesmaids, groomsmen and/or parents). He likes to meet at the actual reception site and have a preliminary run-through of the wedding dance so everyone involved has a clear vision of what will take place. When your entertainment and your reception site work together in your best interest, it will make for a beautiful and flawless evening.
On the Day of the Event
Today is your day to enjoy and relax knowing that everything has been customized to
your dreams. Upon arrival Jeff will have all equipment set-up and have consulted
with the other wedding professionals on site like your caterer, wedding coordinator,
photographer, videographer and any other wedding professional that will be involved
with your wedding reception. This allows you the freedom to relax and cherish your
family and friends on your big day rather than worrying about the details. Jeff has
many years of experience so you can be rest assured his talent, respect, and
professionalism will engage all ages. His creativity and attention to detail will
take your day from hoping to knowing it will be a success.
Overall
The memories of your wedding day will undoubtedly last you a lifetime. Jeff is a
true professional who will go the distance to satisfy you and to make your dreams a
reality. Defining a true entertainer Jeff will strive to deliver to you his best
possible performance. This is his personal goal every time he performs. Detailed,
talented and on-time Jeff will ensure you the relaxation you and your fiancé(e)
deserve on your special day.
Explanation of Optional Specialty Dances
Bride and Grooms First Dance:
We start off the dance portion of the reception with
a special dance just for the Bride and Groom. This is a slow song that you choose
which tells your guests how you feel for one another. Most couples choose the first
slow song that they ever danced to. Some choose a song from the first movie they saw
together, others choose one that is a favorite of theirs that really tells of their
love for one another. It can be something new on the radio today or a classic love
song from days gone by.
Bridal Party Dance:
This dance is to follow immediately after the Bride and Grooms
first dance together. It will be a slow song selected by you, for the Bridal party
to join you on the dance floor. Some clients like the Bridal party to dance with
each other, some like them to dance with their significant others, boyfriends,
girlfriends, etc.
Bride and Father Dance:
This is a dance that the Bride and her Father will share.
The two of you will dance to a slow song that you select to tell your Father how
much he means to you or sometimes how the Father feels about you. Talk this over
with your Father.
Groom and Mother Dance:
This is a dance that the Groom and his mother will share.
The two of you will dance to a slow song that you select to tell your Mother how
much she means to you or sometimes how the Mother feels about you. Talk this over
with your Mother.
**** Some couples like to combine the Bride/Father and Groom/Mother dances together and dance to only one song. This saves on time and awkwardness of having just two people on the dance floor for an extended period of time. ****
Parents Dance:
This is a slow dance selected for both sets of parents to dance to.
We like to invite the parents out to the dance floor for this song as a tribute to
them and ask the guests to join the couple on the dance floor. Sometimes clients
will select to play the wedding song that the parents danced to at their own wedding
as a special surprise to them. This dance should only be selected if both sets of
parents are still together and happily married. This will keep feelings from being
hurt or an uncomfortable moment is there is some animosity amongst the couples.
Grandparents Dance:
This dance is designated to the Grand Parents of the Bridal
couple. If possible we like to play the song that they danced to on their wedding
day. This dance should only be selected if the Grandparents are healthy enough to
perform the dance and if there will not be upset feelings if someone has passed
away. (Speak to both sets of Grandparents and your Parents about this prior to the dance)
Couple Married The Longest Dance:
We ask all married couples to join you on the
dance floor for a slow love song. We typically play the song "Can I have this dance
for the rest of my life" by Anne Murray. As the song progresses I will announce
that anyone married less then... (Time amount) please leave the dance floor. We
will start with less then 24 hours and go up to 5,10,15,20 years until we have one
last couple on the dance floor. When the song ends I will take the microphone and
speak to them about how long they have been married. Then ask the couple to give you
the secret to such a long relationship. This sometimes can be both very funny and
very touching to your guests.
The Dollar Dance:
The dollar dance is designed to give your guests a chance to dance
with you for a few moments. The Best Man and the Maid of Honor will collect $1.00
from each person who wishes to dance with you. Each guest will receive approximately
thirty seconds to one minute to dance a slow song with you. This is timed out at a
pace to be able to end the dollar dance in the shortest amount of time possible.
Typically 6 to 8 songs. The bigger the crowd the longer it may take. No dollar
dance should take more then thirty minutes.
I Knew The Bride When She Used To Rock and Roll:
This is a fun dance that many
Bridesmaids request. We have the Bride in the center of the dance floor surrounded
in a circle by the Bridesmaids and any of the guests who would like to participate.
I play the song "I knew the bride when she use to rock and roll" by Nick Lowe.
The bride will then point to a person to join her in the circle to dance the upbeat, fun song with her. She continues to point to people and dance with them one at a time until the song ends.
I'm Too Sexy Dance:
Is the same as the "I knew the Bride" dance except we put the
groom in the middle of the circle and he dances with the group to the song "I'm too
sexy" by Right said Fred. Some clients will choose another song for this dance such
as: "Another one bites the dust" by Queen, "You sexy thing" by Hot Chocolate or a
favorite of their own.
Explanation of Optional Specialty Events
Grand Marche Introductions:
This is when the Bridal couple and Bridal Party arrive
at the reception location. It is an introduction of your arrival to your guests.
There are many ways to perform this activity; you can select which way bests
represent who you are. Some Bridal couples like to have only themselves announced
to the room, some like to have the entire Bridal Party to be announced. Some will
include the Parents and or Grand Parents to be announced. When we announce you, we
will have you out of the room and out of site to your guests. Depending on how you
wish to perform the announcement, a song will be played, you will be announced and
then enter the room to your guests standing and applauding as you make your way to
the Bridal Table. After the applause fades you will sit down and your whole Bridal
party will also sit down in uniform to you.
Toast To The Married Couple:
A toast is typically given by the Best Man and the
Maid of Honor. I supply a Microphone to the Bridal table where they stand next to
you as they give their toasts. The toasts should be three minutes or less to keep
the event moving forward. Sometimes other Bridal Party member or a Parent will also
want to do a toast.
Married Couples Toast To The Parents:
When the toasts to the Bridal Couple are
finished we end with the Bridal couple standing and toasting the Parents. Telling
them of how important the parents are to them and thanking them for this day.
Bouquet Toss:
The bouquet toss can be performed in many different ways. The
standard way is to have all the single ladies stand at one end of the dance floor
with the Bride at the other. With her back to the ladies I will count to three, it
is then that the Bride will toss the bouquet over her shoulders to the lucky female
who will catch it.
Bouquet Presentation:
This is where the bride will do a presentation of the Bouquet
to a special person in her life. It could be a Mother, Sister, Grandmother or
Bridesmaid. We call that person to the dance floor to receive the bouquet as a
special moment for them.
Garter Toss:
The bride will be wearing her garter under her dress, just inches
above the knee. We will have her sit on a chair on the dance floor while the Groom
attempts to remove it from her leg. I like to make it a little more difficult for
the Groom by instructing him that he may not use his hands, and the Bride can not
help him. It can be a very funny moment for your guest. After he removes the garter
he will be placed at one end of the dance floor, facing away from the single men
standing on the other end. I will count to three and then he will toss it over his
should to one lucky male who will catch it.
Garter Auction:
This isn't like your normal auction. We get anyone, male or female
who would like to bid on the garter onto the dance floor with the Bride and Groom.
Everyone who wants to bid on the garter must each give the Bridal couple ONE dollar.
You will collect the money from all who wish to participate. I will then tell them
that if they want to stay in the bidding they must now give you TWO more dollars.
After you collect the money I will jump to FIVE more dollars. As the price goes up a
few will drop out. We then Jump to TEN dollars, then TWENTY dollars then FIFTY
dollars. We continue until only one person can pay the final amount. This game can
make a nice amount of money much like the DOLLAR DANCE.
Garter Ticket Raffle:
I will announce during dinner that the Bridal party
(sometimes including the Bride and Groom) will be selling raffle tickets for $1.00
each. You may buy as many tickets as you wish and later in the evening one ticket
will be pulled by the couple and that person will win the Garter. (must be present
to win) I will supply the tickets that the Bridal party will sell. They will then
give me the money which will be put into a safe box for keeping. They should all
continue to sell until as many tickets as possible is sold. The people who purchase
the tickets will tear apart the two sections, keeping one and placing the other into
a special container. Later in the evening the Bride and Groom will then pull one
ticket out and I will announce the winner of the bouquet. This can easily make $300
or more dollars if your Bridal party really sells the tickets.
