Tired of the same old corporate party? Everyone sitting around in their little "groups," complaining
about the boss, stuffing themselves with the free food & drinks and not having any fun at all!
If you're the person responsible for the planning of the party and don't want to be embarrassed the next
day at work because the party was not a success, then you should talk to me, Jeff Richards. I have been
creating fun, exciting and uniquely different events for organizations for over 10 years. I work directly
with the coordinators and planning committees to offer new, creative, and honest suggestions to create an
event with the atmosphere, tempo, and personality that will enhance the ambiance of your event.
I specialize in "Theme Parties" that will have everyone talking at
the water cooler on Monday. All your guests will have fun but at no time be embarrassed to be a part of the experience.
I offer many different party options for Corporate events. You can choose one option or a combination of two options
to add even more fun and excitement. Go to the pricing page for more information.
I use the latest in BOSE® sound technology to bring you the very best in sound quality. No more uncomfortable
sound levels or unintelligible dialogue. I was one of the very first and very few DJ's in Minnesota to
purchase the BOSE® P.A.S. Speaker System. Go to the Lights & Sound page to learn
all about this amazing sound technology. This system is available to you with a corded or wireless microphone for any speeches,
giveaways or special announcements.
"Game Show Mania" By Party Time Productions
Below are the descriptions to the "Game Show Mania" games that we will play. Each game is different and
based upon a classic television game show.
#1) Last Team Standing
Four teams of five people compete by answering trivia questions to win prizes.
Playing the game:
- The first team player to buzz in and correctly answer the question stays in the game sending the other three competitors to sit down. The winner steps to the back of their team line and the next player steps up to the podium for the next round.
- If the first person who buzzes in answers incorrectly that person sits down and the other three competitors stay in the game. They then go to the back of their team line and the next player steps up to the podium for the next round.
- Stealing the round: After the first person buzzes in but incorrectly answers the question, one of the other three competitors can buzz in to steal the round. If this person correctly answers the question they stay in the game and the other three competitors sit down. If this person incorrectly answers the question, only that person has to sit down while the other three competitors, including the first person who buzzed in with the wrong answer will stay in the game. They go to the end of their team line and the next player steps up to the podium for the next round.
Winning the game:
The last team to have one or more players left standing at the podium wins the competition. Everyone on the team wins a prize.
#2) Know It All
Four contestants compete by answering trivia questions to win prizes.
Playing the game:
In the style of the TV game show Jeopardy, four contestants will answer trivia questions to win the
game and be declared the "KNOW IT ALL".
- Unlike the TV game show Jeopardy, contestants do not answer in the form of a question.
- One point is awarded for each correct answer.
- One point is subtracted for each incorrect answer.
- In the case of incorrect answers, up to all four contestants can try to correctly answer each question until the correct answer is given.
- There is a time limit to answer individually and/or as a group each question.
- If none of the contestants give the correct answer or time runs out, the audience will then be polled.
Winning the game:
The first contestant to correctly answer and score nine points is declared the winner.
#3) Name That Tune
Four players compete trying to name tunes after hearing a short snippet of that tune to win prizes.
Playing the game:
Four competitors will hear a very short snippet of a famous song and attempt to be the first to
buzz in with the correct song title.
- For each correct answer the competitors will be awarded one point.
- One point will be subtracted for each incorrect answer.
- A second contestant can try to buzz in with the correct answer after the first contestant is pronounced incorrect and the point is subtracted.
- Two tries per song title maximum.
- The rounds can have songs covering several categories such as: Billboard Top 40, Television Theme Songs, One Hit Wonders, Pick That Polka, Disco Dance Fever etc.
Winning the game:
The first contestant to receive seven points is declared the winner!
#4) One vs. Everyone
One contestant will compete against everyone at the party answering trivia questions to win prizes.
Playing the game:
In the style of the TV game show "1 vs.100", one contestant will stand at the podium and compete against everyone at
the party to the game.
- Each person sitting at tables will receive three index cards lettered A, B & C.
- They all will be asked to stand, placing the three cards face down on the table in front of them.
- The contestant will be given 3 points to begin with to start the game.
- A question will be asked to the one contestant at the podium and to the entire group of party goers with the possibility of one of three answers. (A, B or C)
- Each of the standing audience members will then pick up the card with the letter of the answer that they believe is correct (A, B or C)
- They then will place it against their chests in view of everyone in the room but with the answer hidden against themselves as not to reveal their answer to anyone.
- The contestant will then give their answer to the room.
- Those standing audience members with the incorrect answer will be asked to sit down.
- The contestant will loose one point for each incorrect answer.
- The contestant will be allowed three cheats at any time during the game.
These cheats are:
A. Ask the Audience: They can pick one person in the room, seated or standing for the answer. They then can choose to accept the cheats answer or choose one of their own.
B. Poll the Audience: Everyone still standing will reveal their answers to the contestant. They can then choose to follow what the group answered in the majority or choose to use their own answer.
C. Eliminate an Answer: If the contestant is stumped they can have me eliminate one of the incorrect answers, leaving them only two possible answers to choose from.
Winning the game:
The contestant must eliminate everyone playing the game.
- When the audience members incorrectly answer the questions and are sitting down before the contestant loses their starting five points.
- If the contestant loses their five points they are out of the game and sits down. The audience members still standing will then split the winning prize between them.
#5) Are you Smarter Than a DJ?
In the style of "Are you smarter than a fifth grader" four contestants will compete to see if
they are smarter than "A DJ".
Playing the game:
Four contestants will attempt to answer questions that any 5th grader should know.
- The first person to buzz in with the correct answer will win one point.
- One point is subtracted for each incorrect answer.
- The questions are all from test questions given to school children grades one through five.
Winning the game:
The first contestant to reach nine points wins the game and the prize. At the end all the contestants
who did not win must look at the audience and say "I am not smarter than a DJ".
#6) The Brainy Bunch
5 contestants will square up against each other to see who is the smartest in the bunch. One contestant
will battle against four opposing members to be called "THE BRAIN" and win the prize.
Playing the game:
One contestant will stand at the podium in the "Brain" position while five players face off against them.
- The Brain must buzz in first and correctly answer the question to gain a point and remain in the position of the Brain.
- If the Brain incorrectly answers the question, they then will move to the end of the line of the team challenging the Brain and the contestant who was challenging the Brain will now move into the Brain position.
- The new Brain must now attempt to answer five questions in a row against the opposing team players.
- If the challenger answers incorrectly they will move to the end of the line of the team challenging the Brain.
- No point is awarded to the Brain if the challenger fails to answer the question correctly.
- If neither the Brain nor the challenger has an answer for the question, or time runs out, everyone stays in their position and another question is asked.
Winning the game:
The person standing in the Brain position must answer five questions consecutively, one against all five challengers
to be declared "THE BRAIN".
#7 Ain't No Big Deal
Bonus Game!
Any contestant who won a prize has a chance to risk everything they have won to try and possibly win
an even bigger prize. This game is a mix of the TV game shows "Deal or No Deal" and "Let's make a Deal".
Playing the game:
Four contestants will be asked if they would like to risk everything that they have won this evening
to try to win an even bigger prize.
- If they decide to play they have to give up their prize and select between three numbered cases.
- Here's the big deal, the cases could have a wonderful prize in it or it could be a ZONK in which case they loose the prize that they had won earlier and walk away with a totally worthless prize.
Winning the game:
One by one each container will be opened to show what they have won. It could be a fabulous prize or it could be a ZONK!
